Lochie swims the English Channel

16 year old ocean swimmer, Lochie Hinds, completed his English Channel swim this morning at 7.30am Aust EST.

Lochie departed Calais in France at 9.00 am on Thursday 5^th July (local France time) in 12 degree water and began the 34km swim towards Dover in the U.K.

Wearing only the regulation costume, hat, goggles, grease and earplugs, he completed the course in 12 hours and 22 minutes. He stopped halfway vomiting from exhaustion and hunger, but after a whinge, got a second wind and powered on.
