Rescue Base Open Day 2012
25 March 2012

Westpac Life Saver Rescue Base Open Day a success
On Sunday 25th March 2012, the Westpac Life Saver held its 3rd annual Rescue Base Open Day.
We opened our gates and welcomed the community to see displays and demonstrations by a number of emergency services including police vehicles, fire trucks, surf rescue boats, ambulance vehicles and many more. There were action packed demonstrations throughout the day including simulated helicopter winch rescues, the NSW Police Dog Squad and the Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit’s “bomb robot”.
The Rescue Base Open Day was a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to meet the heroic people behind each service, participate in a range of interactive activities and demonstrations and learn more about the vital work our emergency services sector does.
Thank you to everyone that participated on the day and to the community for helping us raise over $7000 for the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service.
